Got prospective parent coming, need advice

Parent coming at 10am about a place for her 10 month dd. just 1 day a week.
I have space and baby will fit in at just 1 day.
The problem is I also have a 2.5 yr old little boy who is challenging to say the least!
He plays well with other kiddies despite having delayed language.
However, he tries to smack me when other parents drop off/collect. It only lasts a moment before he scoots off to carry on playing.
He knows he shouldn't smack and never smacks other children.

I just don't want to put this mum off if he launches at me as soon as she arrives

Any advice welcome.

Can you get him involved in something, building blocks making train set or something- you can sit with him and carry on doing it while talking to prospective parent so he is occupied.

Would cuddling him help - so hold him when you answer the door and once he feels calmer about having someone else there he will request to be put down.

how did it go?

i don't suppose the parent will hold it against you - would be worse if he was your own child, lol! Wink

It went well!
M was great, really gentle with the baby!
Only smacked me once when I asked him to stop running!
The mum thought he was totally charming!
The baby is coming for A 2 hour settling in session on Tuesday x
