How old is he?

DD started at about 2 I guess

FastasleepInABunnySuit · 11/04/2006 23:29

Mine was about 18 monthsish but it became an obsession Grin

Ds is 2.7 and has been doing it for several months now. Can't remember when he first started.

jellyjelly · 11/04/2006 23:32

He is just 3 very bright but not getting blowing at all just sniffs all the boggies up instead, so any tips appreciated.

Dd (5 in May) can barely do it now. Ds (22 months) has been nose-trumping for England (and is also obsessed) for about 3 months now.

Ds and mindee 1 (both just 3) both wipe own noses but can't blow. Ds won't even blow with me holding it but that's him being stubborn!! (he could do it a year ago then couldn't be bothered anymore!!)

It seems a very individual thing - I have children at the pre-school I work in who are just 2.6 yo and blow heartily into a tissue (can take you by surprise Grin) and then I have a dd of 5.6yo who just can't do it and she is not alone in her class apparently.

Pinotmum · 12/04/2006 08:48

Looneytune - love the name! This is what I call my children Smile

looneytune · 12/04/2006 08:55

Grin changed it the other day as my other name was a bit boring and obvious. Was watching Tom and Jerry or something and saw the looneytune bit and thought hey, that can be my new MN name Grin

BTW, I call my ds that too!! Wink (my SIL thinks it's cruel for some reason???)

DD is four in a couple of weeks and can wipe her nose (albeit down into her mouth!). She hasn't twigged about blowing yet - she sniffs instead too.

Twiglett · 12/04/2006 09:02

DD is 2 next month and does it

DS is 5 and still doesn't on his own (although he happily wipes)

schneebly · 12/04/2006 09:04

ds1 has been blowing it properly from about 26 months but my 4 year old nephew who is very bright cannot do it yet.

callaird · 12/04/2006 21:31

I look after 3.3 year old twin boys, the eldest has been blowing his nose for nearly a year, youngest blew his nose for about 3 days about a month ago and now doesn't seem to know how to do it anymore!! Never come across this before!! Also, just found out that he has an allergy to something airbourne (not sure what yet!) so is constantly sniffing and it drives me mad!!

ThePrisoner · 12/04/2006 22:43

I think most of my mindees practice blowing their noses on their sleeves.

ThePrisoner · 12/04/2006 22:51

... or on mine ...
