Whats a parents handbook?

Quite a few of you have mentioned it in your posts. i have applied to do the childminding course and awaiting to hear back.
just starting to think about getting organised etc and didnt know what this was.

My handbook starts off with a bit about me, my home & family and then details the service I provide (meals I provide, opening hours etc) and ends with all my policies (child protection, sickness & exclusion policy, complaints procedure etc).

Its publicity material for parents who might want to use your service and a reference for parents who already do.
