Just that really - what can I expect to pay (ish) for a childminder for a 1yr old?

depends on area - some North London is £50 a day up to £60. Slightly less well off areas of North you may get someone for £40...

Have been told some South is up to £70 a day +

mindingalongtime · 01/11/2012 18:17

What postcode? Herts. some parts £70 a day, some £50 depending on where you are, it can very so much within a couple of miles

hypnotisingchickens · 01/11/2012 18:53

I pay £50 per day in SE London, but I provide all food.

Dozer · 01/11/2012 20:11

Friends in SE london pay £6.75 an hour.

BlingBubbles · 01/11/2012 20:16

I think £50 is probably average amongst my group of friends. We all live in south London.

Justfeckingdoit · 01/11/2012 20:19

£6 an hour in Balham/Wandsworth. If anyone wants I can recommend an amazing one who I used for a year (have now moved away)

procrastinor · 01/11/2012 20:23

celebrate · 02/11/2012 11:22

I forgot to add I am looking for mothers help with a 22 month old in North west london. where is best to look?

confusedperson · 02/11/2012 12:52

I feel lucky, I pay £40/day for a full-time time in South London/Croydon area (£5/hour for part-time)

Mamuss · 02/11/2012 13:26

£4 ph in southwest

ReetPetit · 02/11/2012 18:57

celebrate, try childcare.uk - you generally get a better standard of carer from there as you have to pay to send messages. i would put your ad on and wait for responses rather than contacting people yourself - that way you know they are serious. gumtree i don't think is all that good for attracting good childcarers....

Queenofthehill · 02/11/2012 19:03

£37 a day in se London

Italiana · 02/11/2012 23:01

There are 152 Local Authorities and not one of them has c/ms who charge the same...the fee will depend on the local area and it varies from c/m to c/m...make a few calls and visits and choose the best for you...beware of those who charge very little...

hollie11 · 08/11/2012 13:25

I charge £5.50 an hour (south woodford) this includes all food, playgroup fees, etc.
