they sent around a letter recently asking for donation ranging on how much you use mumsnet to cover admit cost. I guess that this is part of it.

HellyBelly · 23/03/2006 10:47

jelly, was that in the newsletter or did you get a personal email from them?

jellyjelly · 23/03/2006 11:09

think it was a personal email/group email i dont look at the news letters

Everyone gets an email after so many months of being on here - they ask for a subscription donation. This is different to the CAT thing, I'd heard nothing about it, just noticed they were now charging so I don't bother with it (always took ages for emails to filter through anyway!)

They have scrapped the voluntary subscriptions that they had before, and have replaced it with a £5 charge to use the CAT service - it came into effect a couple of months ago. The £5 charge is for a year, but if you have recently paid a voluntary subscription they will clear you to CAT until your subs run out.

SoupDragon · 23/03/2006 12:56

the voluntary subs have been scrapped in favour of the annual (I think) CAT charge. If you've recently payed a subscription, they can waive the CAT charge

oh right, was this mentioned on a newsletter or something? i think i paid (annual subscription) around October time so guess I'll have to pay again to use CAT.

WigWamBam · 23/03/2006 16:50

It was in one of the newsletters, and there were a couple of threads about it too.

If you paid your subs in October, drop them an email and see if they will drop the CAT charge for you until your subs would have expired.
