CM club - is this a bit immoral!

Right then

Is this a bit cheeky?

One mindee is going on holiday for two weeks in May........the other childmider in my village is on holiday for the same two weeks and has asked that I do holiday cover for a little girl she has!

That means...........

I will be paid twice! As parents pay me when they go on hols, and holiday mindee will pay me!

I don't see there being an issue. Great that the parents timed their holiday with another CM taking theirs.

first thought was no, how lucky for you. but then realised, you mentioned other minder in village, implies a small village. would your family find out? would they be the sort of family to be upset by this?
Maybe if they would you could mantion it or say that you are helping another minder out and using the money to buy more toys etc?

hope you do manage to.

nothing wrong with this at all. Good for you!

Can't see a prob - your family know they have to pay you when they are away - presume is in contract ? - so no skin off their nose - and other CM's family happy that their little girl has a CM whilst theirs is away - cannot see anyone being upset about this - and if they are they haven't got a leg to stand on !

Godd Luck for you Booh !

Why not! Good for you in thinking up this idea, you help out other CM and mum who needs care and get paid!

I don't see a problem with it - My CM is always looking after other peoples children on an ad hoc basis - and she doesn't tell me who is going to be there. I totally trust her with my DD - so I'm not worried by it. So I really wouldn't care at all when I am on hols what she does - she still has bills to pay. I admire her. So you go for - nothing to do with anyone else!

Good for you, its not that often things work for our advantage, i wouldnt even mention it unless they bring up what you will be doing.

ok what if holidays are cancelled by some strange coincidence what would you then do?

Report

Norah · 20/03/2006 20:04

It's so not going to happen though - even if the holiday is cancelled they'll still be on leave from work - no-one would go bacjk to work - they'd just make the best holiday they could at home !!

Don't worry about it Booh - it's fine and you are not doing anything wrong whatsoever ! Can't understand why anyone would think you were (jealousy maybe ?)

you can't live like that, 'what if' It's highly unlikely that they would cancel their holiday. Would you really turn down double money for some vague chance???
