Can anyone explain exactly how you become a childminder?

That's it really. I am really interested in starting up as a childminder but haven't a clue where to start. Have googled but it is all very confusing.

Contact ofsted or look on their website, contact your local families information service and www.childmindingforum.co.uk is a fab site.
