Nanny share - looking for sample agreements between families

I'm starting a nanny share in September (nanny looking after two 1 yo boys full time). We have a contract in place between the families and the nanny. We'd also like a written agreement between the families that details things like how we'll handle kids illness, lateness in picking up, minimum length of time the share we commit to the share for, etc. Wondering if anyone has an agreement like this in place and if so, what other topics have you included in it and would you share it with me?

Many thanks,
Beth

Hi Beth, Are you the family or the nanny. I am a nanny starting a nannyshare in september. I have been with the current family im with now for 3 years and we are now starting a share with another family joining us. I have got written up 2 seperate contracts from each family not a joint one that will both start from end of august. This outlines normal things ie. duties, pay, sickness, why you may be dismissed etc you no normal stuff. So far we have not thought about'(well i havent) writing up the other things as all of us seem happy with whats arranged so far. I will still have a sick child, each family does not mind if we have an ill child in contact with the other family. At the moment the hardest thing to sort out for us i think has probably been how the pay works out. It is also really nice if the 2 familys can sometimes have there holidays at the same time so the nanny actually gets that time off, as this can be tricky. In my contract i am not going to insist on a late fee, i no some people who have had trouble do but to be honest 15 minutes here or there doesnt bother me.

I'm a nanny in a nanny share and also have a contract with both families but it does state that if one of the families pulls out of the arrangement I am still employed by the second family!! Its added security for me really. I still have a job wit one of the families.xx

Well done realising you need something in writing between the two share families, not just with the nanny. I run a childcare business and have had mums in tears on the phone because their share arrangement has collapsed or the other share family was making assumptions or doing things which were never originally agreed. If share families draw up a mini-agreement between them, then problems are nuch less likely to happen.
I started to write here about the things that need to be covered, but it was getting too long for what is supposed only to be used for short messages. I am very happy to email you the pointers if you want me to and I am allowed to do so by the website administrators!
