Have kept it to myself(i'm 20 weeks now) for weeks as i was awaiting test results etc.Can you believe she said i don't look pg and she hadn't noticed?Grin Anyway i have given her 2 phone numbers of other minder friends who can cover my mat leave from July. She said that would be fab but she will deffo want me to have her lo back!! It was so nice to finally tell her and know she will want to come back. She even said if there is anything she can do for me to let her know. She has restored my faith in parents after a few bad experiences.I'm a lucky minder.

Congratulations (did we know?)Grin it's nice to be appreciated isn't it.

Congrats, i'm nearly 12 weeks preg and trying for a while, no periods so thought pgnancy was near on imposs!
Started to become a registered minder, got my certificate then found I was pg!!!
Not sure whether to tell prospective parents yet, although i'm sure they will guess!!! Already the size of an elephants bottom Grin but this time not planning on having mat leave as such, just four weeks maybe and took as my holiday too.

Not sure if i mentioned it or not.I think i'll need my 6 months off pol as i have ds1 aged 14.5 and ds2 age 10.5 and dd aged 19 months so i will need the time off.If i'm getting paid why not eh? lol Do you have any others pol?Congrats and take care. Why not put cards saying you will be available for short term contracts or ad-hoc minding. Some parents may be looking for exactly that.Good luck

I have a dd of 18 months and so feel that if i've gotta get up and out with her might as well have someone else's child too...
I'm hoping four weeks will be enough but nearer the time going to find an alternative minder and say if she wants to move and not come back i'll understand... hoping she'll think i'm sooooo wonderful she won't! Grin
Thats all if she wants me, lol.

lunavix · 09/03/2006 13:04

congrats :) told the parents at beginning of half term I was pg (due august) and two are chuffed, I'm only having two weeks off (if all goes to plan) so it doesn't really affect them.

One set has arranged alternative care, but tbh it was coming anyways. I'm upset to lose the kids but I think the new arrangement will be good for them!

Congratulations Smile to all of you, Glad it went well for you with the parents,
Mine have been really good too and have stated they want to use me again after lo is born, I am planning on doing the same lunavix just to have 2 weeks off . I am due 17th sept and work term time only besides a very part time mindee so will have the school summer hols mostly to myself.

nzshar · 09/03/2006 13:25

Well personally i think you are all mad !!!! :o

No seriously congrats to you all.

lunavix · 09/03/2006 13:27

puppy - lucky!

I have three after school kids which are every day and full time during holidays, plus ds, bump and my week day under 5 mindees who are the one's I think I'll be losing. School holidays are my busy time!

pol25 · 09/03/2006 15:33

Nshar... think I am mad... and just had another call from netmums- get on there if you're not already although not sure what your area is like for minders...
Also put up and ad in starbucks... loads of mums go there with their little ones... and obviously have heaps of money to throw on a coffee or hot choc(yum)Wink So they can throw some my way!

agalch · 09/03/2006 16:20

I honestly don't think i'd be fit to get back to minding as soon as 2/4 weeks after having baby.Maybe i'm just a lazy bugger and want to sit on my bum for a while lol Grin. As long as i can get the ma pay i am taking advantage of the time off.
