Mindee leaving - what EYFS paperwork goes with them?

I realise I should know this Blush but wonder if anyone can help me...

I'm going on maternity leave in a month, and my little mindee will be going to a new childminder. What paperwork should I keep and what should I send with him?

I'm thinking particularly of EYFS records, observations, planning etc. (which I am woefully behind on at the moment). Do I give everything to his parents? I'm pretty sure the new childminder won't want them as she will keep her own records from when he arrives. I'm also concerned that if Ofsted turn up to check me while I am on maternity leave I won't have anything to show them. I can't possibly keep a copy of his 'photo album' with records of what he has done here, as it is a hugely fat A3 scrapbook.

Sorry for asking what is probably a very basic question.

I send all photos, observations, plans, etc with the child. I think their parents normally keep them, rather than passing them on.

Thank you HSMM - that's really helpful Smile

You need to keep your records of accidents and incidents, and also your attendance records (you need to keep these until the child is 21). All your observations, planning, assessments, photos etc go with the child - they are for the parent, not the new minder.

If Ofsted call to say they're going to check you then you just tell them you don't have a mindee. If you tell them you're going on maternity leave then they won't schedule you for an inspection then anyway.
