CM Registration - getting nervous about Ofsted visit

Can all you registered CMs out there reassure me that I am perfectly capable of proving to the Ofsted inspector that I am a capable person who will make a fabulous childminder?! I am starting to get scared about the visit. Please can I hear some stories (preferably not horror stories) to reassure me, what I need to remember and things I need to do to prepare. Thanks!

I had given birth days before mine, couldn't think of any answers and was a total mess for mine but luckily got an understanding inspector and I'm registered so you'll be fine.

They are checking you're suitable but don't be afraid to ask them anything because they are there to help you too. Good luck!

Blimey! Mind you, you had a good excuse! Perhaps I can borrow a baby from somewhere and pretend!! Having not worked for 8 years I'm just worried my memory will fail me on all the bits I need to remember.

Fill in the pre reg visit booklet - all the things she is likely to ask you are in there - then keep the booklet to hand as you are allowed to refer to it. My inspector was very calm, friendly and approachable. Don't panic - you will be fine!

If you're not sure about something, ask the inspector for advice. Don't worry. Go through your booklet, as suggested above.

It isn't nearly as scary as you would think.

I was given less than 24 hours notice and it was one of my busiest weeks with loads of stuff going on. But it was very straight forward and lasted less than an hour.

I filled in the booklet and referred to that when necessary.
