Is there such a childminder and how do I find them?

I have been told today I need to do a days training on Monday for which I will need childcare from 8 till 6. I've never had to use childcare before as my family have looked after dd 7 between them. Would a childminder do one day cover and how would I find them?

You haven't said where you are in general, but the best bet is to contact your local Family Information Service, they usually have an online list of childminders with vacancies with their contact details. As a childminder if I had the space I would do it.

There may well be a space in a local childminders, but you could book one of the summer holiday clubs aswell- worth checking for thinngs local to you online

Thanks for the replies. I'm in SE London. I tried the local holiday play schemes but they had a 2 day minimum and £15 - £25 registration fee which seemed a bit excessive to me, hense looking for a childminder

The larger nanny agencies have temporary nannies on their books who cover exactly this kind of situation, they are not cheap though.

I'm a nanny in SE London and I don't work Mondays, if that would be of any use to you?

Wicked thank you very much for the offer, I followed badgerheads advice and called my local FIS and found a lovely childminder who's looking after a couple of dd's school friends x
