Alot of you have mentioned that you paid by direct payment how does this work?

Do you give the parents your bank details and they set up a transfer?

It would be alot easier for me, I get paid cash at the minute and by the time I pay it in I've usually spent half of it.

TIA

Yes - they just set up either a regular payment or just pay the cash in direct to you bank account

I've just taken on 3 new mindees and talked them into paying me direct into my bank account so now I just have my original mindee payment by cheque.

I think they all set them up online but they could have phoned the bank or anything really - dead easy. All I had to do was give them my bank details (a/c no, sort code & bank name)

HTH :)

I set up a business account with HSBC( free banking for a period of time) they gave me the slips needed which i can give to parents.

A couple of my parents have done a direct payment to my bank but I really don't like it as I only get a statement every 3 months, so can never be sure that anyone has paid me! (And I don't like internet banking either, have had problems in the past).

How do you guys manage it if it is a different amount each week/month?

Katymac · 05/03/2006 07:52

TP - surely you can see themoney going into your bank account, either by telephone, on-line or at the cash machine?

ThePrisoner · 05/03/2006 11:49

Don't use cash machine and am not set up for telephone banking! The money usually goes in (by cheque) and is gone again soon afterwards. Changing the way I bank is on my "to do" list, but is way at the bottom!

Isyhan · 05/03/2006 12:10

a lady who works at the bank told me recently that cheque books will be obsolete soon!

Jensmum · 05/03/2006 15:09

I'm really worried about giving out my bank details.

It doesn't bother me when I'm buying stuff online or setting up direct debits but I'd be scared of them ripping me off

Isyhan - do you get extra charges with it being a business account?

My bank tried to get me to open one the other week but I would of got charged for paying money in, taking it out and near enough everything else you use a bank account for. The only up side was I'd be able to pay in more coins
