I'm only working 2 days a week instead of 5 and we're away for 2 weeks, can't wait!

I've been really poorly lately so am looking forward to a few lie ins!

5 days a week with assorted children. Looking forward to it.

I must be mental! I will be having between 6 and 8 children every day through the holidays but 1 day a week I will be working with my assistant where we will have 11 kids!!!! Ages vary between 1 and 11.

I've booked 1 week off part way through the holidays so that I can try and recharge my batteries!

Luckily I live in a lovely part of the country with lots to do - I just hope we have some sunshine so we can get out and enjoy it! I can't say I'm looking forward to the holidays really but it will certainly be a challenge - think I will be consuming lots of Wine at the weekends Grin

I have one little boy for 7 hours per week (2 mornings) ...all the others are term-time only!

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 17/07/2012 17:21

I've got more summer holiday children than term-time this year! However, I'm taking two weeks off and am only working three days per week instead of five.

I really hope we have some dry days because there are quite a few days where we won't all fit in my car and there is virtually nothing to do within walking distance of my home.

I will be working for 3 weeks, then I have 2 weeks off then working the last week and a half ( work 5 days a week, 8-5.15)......... I have a variety of children from 4 months to 12 years old and will have an average of about 6 children per day. Its going to be hard work if this weather doesn't change so i have lots craft and cooking projects planned just in case.

nokidshere · 17/07/2012 19:51

I'm working the first two weeks but only with teenagers, then I have two weeks off, then a week with two teenagers for 2 days only then the last week off.

Cant wait!! I'm knackered lol

anewyear · 17/07/2012 19:58

Got next week off, working with various kids for the next 3,
then a week off as its my birthday that week, ;-)
then working again for the last week.

CantAffordTheOlympics · 17/07/2012 23:02

We have got 2 weeks off starting next week and then our numbers reduce from 12 to 6.

When we first started childminding we had term-time only children but now it's pratically all the year through apart from the schoolies now mostly. We have one child that used to be term-time only that will be moving at the end of the month out of the area so will go to nursery closer to his new home but coming to us holiday only.

We have in previous holidays got a few holiday only children coming via the Emergency Childcare website. Don't know if we are going to get any this time but it will be busy all the same.

We have Monday's completly free though which makes the weekends nicer.

making ends meet cos my afterschoolers are coming day time...its great Grin

msrantsalot · 17/07/2012 23:05

@cant afford, what the emergency childcare website?

CantAffordTheOlympics · 17/07/2012 23:12

www.emergencychildcare.co.uk/ you have to be NCMA registered to join. We changed from Morton Micheal to NCMA so we could join. The people in charge of the website now phone you if a person in your area needs care and ask you if you have any spaces. It used to work as the client saw your details and see you have vacancies and ask for you. It works much better the way it is run now. You don't have to make sure your vacancies are up to date now. The only thing is that you don't know if there is anyone that needs you etc.

I am going on maternity leave on 10 August for 9 months. I would have had 5 children under 3 four days a week throughout the summer holidays. Looking forward to a little break before my own munchkins make an appearance!

Thanks everyone. Enjoy whatever you are doing.
