CRB checks and OFSTED registration

We have found a nanny we like. She is in the process of doing her Ofsted registration as has been out of work with her own child for a couple of years. Ofsted apparently say 12w turnaround. We have 10 absolutely max. Does anyone know if you can hurry them up? I don't mind starting without Ofsted as can pay cash rather than vouchers for first month or so but am not comfortable without enhanced CRB being done. She has CRB but it expired. Is it too much to expect that they'd have a file so she would just be updated? She is from
Scandinavia originally if that makes a difference.

Thought they can't CRB an au pair under the UK system?

She would be an Ofsted registered nanny not an au pair.

Whoops, totally skim read the op to the point of hardly reading it all. Perhaps you could just call crb people and tell them your deadline and is it possible to have it dne by then considering she has already got a lapsed one?

Sometimes it only takes a couple of weeks. I don't think there is anything that can be done to speed up the process.

No, I don't think there's anything that can be done to speed up the process, particularly at this time of year when people are on holiday a lot.

If you're happy with her in other respects, then do you really need to wait for the CRB? It'll only tell you if she has any convictions for anything - why not just ask her? You and she both know that you'll get an answer via the CRB check anyway so there'd be no point in her lying.
