What is the going rate for babysitters?

My friend has an au pair and she has offered that I could share her for babysitting. I will need her every Tuesday evening from 6 ish to 11 pm. Can anyone give me an idea of how much I should be paying for her?

I am a part time sitter (when not mending my leg!) abd charge £5.20 ph on fridays and £5.85 on saturdays. This is through an agency but would give you an idea for south east.

Thanks Jelly, I'll bear that in mind. Problem is Im on a budget so I need to get it for as cheep as possible but don't want to rip her off - Difficult one!

I would say about £4 so about £20 per night.

My dds get £5.00/hour!
