CM for pre-school pick up

My son goes to pre-school 2 days a week and finishes at 3.20pm. From September i am going back to work full time and would like to find a child minder or smilar to pick my son up until me or hubby can collect him at 5pm. How can i go about finding someone?

I found one lady but she said she'd have to charge me for the whole day as even though he's at pre school she can't take another child on.

Any advice would be great!

Thankyou.

You'll find that many cm say the same as its using one of the precious under 5 places. Is it a school and do they have an after school club?

Unfortunately its pre school so no after school club - looks like i might have a problem!!

Try advertising on gumtree etc. My friend got a Mothers help (student studying childcare) for a few hours a week who lives very locally. She pays her £8 an hour though.

I will try that - thankyou!! I don't mind paying that kind of rate as its only for a short time so expect to have to amke it worth that persons time!

As it is for less than 2 hours a day, whoever you use does not need to be registered. Is there another mum who make take him home with her to earn a bit of extra money?

Thanks for that - good idea. i will see if i can find someone that way.
