I'm not even sure where to start with this and haven't needed to worry about it before now, but I'm finally starting to get inquiries for ad hoc and babysitting work and don't want to mess with the tax man.
so how do I do the SE bit? I'm currently employed by two families, one does my pay to the allowance (it comes to just under the allowance annually) and the other pays basic rate, so my SE would be basic rate too I'm assuming? Do I have to do a tax return at the end of the year detailing hours worked SE or do I log my hours and pay tax every few months like one of my employers does?
