Plotting on moving out of parents house into rented accommodation. Along with DD, I have been asked to look after a 2 yo who belongs to my good friend. She wants to pay me. Also my sister has asked for my help when she & her oh have work. She has 2 dd's one of which will be in school. My sister wants to pay me too. I was thinking. Should I take courses & register as a cm? I have experience in pre schools, nurseries, afterschool & holiday care & have looked after friends children & my nieces plenty of times before.

Yes.

well you can't get paid for childminding withour being registered because that would be illegal. so yes if you have agreed to look after these children for money on a regular basis, then you should register.

Yes you should to be paid, also then they can benefit from using childcare vouchers if they want to, and to claim help from tax credits it has to be registered childcare.

You could look after your sister's children but not your friend's at your house. You could be your friend's nanny but then you couldn't look after your children and your friend's.

So, yes. But you would need to check your numbers....

You could nanny for them both but then you'd have to be at their houses not yours.

Retreading my post I meant to say your SILs and your friend's. You can look after children from a max of 2 families as a nanny. 3+ requires registration.

That's assuming you'd have your DD at the same time.

need to go to sleep

Lol Fraktal - DD would be at school when i look after friends children. Im not sure on my sister cause she has strange shifts so i can imagine some of the time will be when DD is at home with me.
