Hi I've only been at my current job a short time so can't 100% comment and be sure on the situation. But I'm a nanny looking after a 8month old. I know this isn't the easiest age as their going through so many different stages. I would say he's 100% happy with me looking after him but in generally seems like a grumpy baby. It doesn't help that both mum and dad make comments about him being grumpy and winging. Been reading some articles online and plenty of mums have said that their child was a child who wasn't very content when a baby but some have grown out of it as a toddler where some haven't. So just wondering if anyone has been through this.

Is he windy? In my experience there is usually a reason for them being grumpy but finding out what the reason is can be really hard. They do often get better as they get older.

Some babies love Tiger In The Tree hold when they are grumpy.

MY DS1 was grumpy from from birth, he was a little better after I stopped breatfeeding and then a little happier again when he started walking. But generally, grumpy really til about 3. We have one picture of him smiling when he was 1ish. We tried colic meds, but they made no difference, it didn't make a huge amount of difference if you held him either.

At the time it was very stressful, the parents are prob just trying to deal with it the best they can by accepting the fact he's grumpy. I found getting out and about as much as possible helped.
He's 5 now and lovely, very smiley, chatty and a pleasure to be with.

DS2 and DD1 were the complete opposite.
