Hi everyone
I have been having mega childcare problems of late. Nanny decided not to return after maternity so left me in a sticky situation. Decided I didn't need a "Nanny" anymore as all my kids are now at school - youngest gets in at 2.30pm and I am home at 5.30pm.

So thought I would get a combined cleaner/minder - do the housework in morning and spend three in afternoon giving kids lunch, doing homework etc... and then obviously activities in the afternoon when they are on holidays.

Went through an agency the last time but thought it was a waste of money this time round. Have a fab Polish friend who does some babysitting and ironing for me and offered her the job but couldn't give her the hours she wanted. She has a friend (Polish) looking for work - great English - cos she is an English teacher by profession. This girl hasn't worked since she arrived in Ireland 2 months ago but my friend speaks very highly of her so I have asked her to come for interview on Friday.

Can anyone give me a few questions out of the ordinary to ask her - suppose I want to know how come she hasn't worked for 2 months - any nice way of putting it to get a good answer - and does anyone know how I would check references from Poland?

I am at my wits end and need to get back to work ASAP and have not been successful in finding someone to date.

Thanks.
