i know that we pay the childminder by their hourly rate (am i right?)

if i decided not to have a childminder and decided to take DD to a playschool instead, do i have to pay for the playschool fees?

as ill be going back to work soon and i need to know this.. (i need to know as havent got a clue!!)

Hi.

I'm a childminder and have recently put my ds and one of my mindees in pre-school. They are both nearly 3.

My pre-school charges £6.50 per session and they attend 2 days a week (i don't pay for mindee of course). The term after their 3rd birthday they are entitled to funding from the government so from April, they will be attending Mon - Fri (our choice, don't have to do every day) and we will only have to pay £20 every half term (or something like that). Other schools charge different fees so keep that in mind.

How old is your dd? By playschool did you mean like pre-school?

Do you mean a day nursery biglips?

HellyBelly · 07/02/2006 17:03

Oh yes then, nurseries charge! Sometimes more, sometimes less than us childminders. You need to look into where you are going!

As for childminders, most have an hourly rate but we all run our own businesses so it depends. I have hourly & daily fees as offer discount for full timers.

Does that help?
