Can anyone recommend a babysitter (north London)...

who charges less than, or approximately, 7-8/hour? We live in north Islington. I know London's more expensive than where we were before (where we paid local teenagers more like 5 per hour or they even charged less when we just had 1 sleeping DD) but I gather from MN that it's not impossible to find local teenagers or young adults who don't charge 10 per hour (and for that, we can get the nursery staff at their nursery, which will be our best option for longer hours, if we want to go far afield etc etc)... But I just don't know any. Anyone out there? It'd just be for when the girls are asleep and we want to go out without paying so much that we feel pressured to have the best time EVER :) Thanks!

Hi there I live in islington and charge £8ph for babysitting I'm a qualified nanny looking for a new family to start babysitting for regular. If you would like to private message me when your email address or number we could discuss more. Sorry I'm on my phone so won't let me click on your name to private message you.

We use sitters.co.uk. All been fine and we normally have the same 2 or 3 sitters. I use them during the day too.

I use sitters too. I'd never pay £10/hour! Have you tried putting an ad in the local newsagents window, there may be a few local au pairs who babysit.

Thanks everyone! I'll look at sitters.co.uk again -- compared to the (ok rather ideal) situation we had before, paying almost a full hour for a booking fee put me off at first but actually the net cost isn't that bad ... nanny20011 and MilkNoSugar, thanks I'll get back to you :)
