Home & contents insurance for childminders

Hi fellow CMs,

Our home & contents insurance is up for renewal fairly soon, & I was wondering if any fellow CMs out there were aware of any companies offering decent deals on home & contents insurance?

Also, on a different note - some local CMs I've spoken to reckon that H & C insurance for their work purposes also covers them for their home...whereas I think there would be a need to have 2 policies (i.e. one for the 'home', & one for 'work') - any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

I have my normal B&C policy that I held before, I rang my insurer to confirm I was now a childminder, they just noted it, made and added a couple of minor clauses and it cost me an extra £35. No need or use for one policy for work and one for personal.

No idea about deals as I'm tied to my insurer due to previous subsidence!

I added child minding to my home insurance and it.didn't cost any extra.
