I have 5 mindees (11 m - 9yrs) and 3 own dc. Planning activities for next week and going to make cards and fancy cupcakes in nice boxes. Anyone got anything more inspiring planned that I can do with such a big age range?

I've bought some little plug flowers and have got some pots ready. They can pot up the plants and then make a sleeve for the pot using card and whatever they can find in the craft cupboard.
We're making some biscuits and putting them in little cellophane bags with decorated labels.
And the obligatory card :)
Not overly inspiring but it's what they like doing.

A hug from me to you:

A single hand print from each hand, laminate, cut out and put aside. Take a length of ribbon, or string, or cord; the child stands with arms outstretched, you cut the ribbon/string/cord using the measurement from wrist to wrist, then punch both handprints, and string. The Mummy can see how big their child's hug is, adorable. I love doing this year by year, so the parents have a tangible record of their child's growth. SWOOON even if I am blowing own trumpet. Grin

Again, handprints, as many as you like. Laminate, then cut heart shapes, punch the tops of the hearts, string and ta da, bunting. LOVELY.

Both v v cheap, hurrah

Boysarelikedogs - thanks so much for directing me to this blog - its fab! Now going to make salt dough handprints for each of the littlies to give to their mums and the older ones are going to make fab over the top cupcakes and little watering cans I got from yellow moon, coloured with deco pens and stuffed with little foam flowers so they've got something to keep. Feeling all inspired and creative now! Smile
