I saw a really nice cm today and hoped to use her for ds2 when I return to work. However, she charges a daily rate which, when I worked it out, is £5.20 p/hour. ds1's childminder (who has no spaces this time :-( charged about £2.50-£3 p/hour (can't quite remember)

Be really interested to hear what others charge/ate charged. Not going to be able to afford this one anyway!

Depends entirely where you are.

I charge £3.00ph but that will go up to £3.50ph when I start working again in September as it's not sustainable at £3.00 for me. Meals and snacks are included in that though.

Am in Telford.

Just a thought, a good place to look for typical rates for your area is childcare.co.uk

£4.25 / hr NW London (which is a lot less than most CMs in the area which were in the £4.75-£5.25 an hr.

But she's wonderful and mine so you can't have her.

Thanks very much. I am south coast so pricey area I know. I think it's thrown it a bit with this potential one as she only charges by the day (9 hours) and I only really need 7.5 hours. Just checked online (thanks for website address) and my last cm charged 3.50 p-hour. Gutted she can't have him.
