Au pair couple - how much to pay?

I wasn't really looking for a couple but they turned up to apply and are actually pretty nice. Usually I pay £100 for just one au pair and schedule 35 hours a week (appx 50-50 split between wrap-round care and help round house)

I don't need extra but can definitely see the use of having extra pair of hands to walk dog, do some proper housework etc. Problem is, what to pay?

Anyone got any experience/examples here? Can't find anything specific on Internet.

£75 each?

Presumably they are a couple couple so would share a room but you provide twice as much food. £75ish is on the low side for an au pair wage but they may feel that coming as a couple is worth it.

My ex and I were offered 160 by most people we applied to, but friends of mine were on 250, but then they were a lovely couple in their late twenties from aids with gold experience with animals which the job called for. This was in the past few years.

Why pay more than you had budgeted?
If they apply as a couple and want the job then they split it!
Think about your extra costs for two.
Or think about what extra jobs one person may take on and pay a rate for these but I think they shouldn't just expect more money!
