see my thread in Behaviour and Dev't.

I am trying to get DD to poo in the loo, she currently waits till bedtime nappy goes on then creeps downstairs whiffily after I've put her to bed, to ask me to change her... V annoying. She is dry during day.

I find bribes work. I favour chocolate buttons but if it is ongoing have you tried the sticker/reward system?

I had a whole crazy conversation with a 2 yr old today about all the poos that were having a party and waiting for her poo to join them!

titferbrains · 13/02/2012 22:46

Did her poo join the party?

It tried but didn't make it. We have a plan to see if it's dressed up in its party clothes tomorrow Grin

The point I am trying to make is that poos are nothing to worry about

my ds4 did this! he eventually just stopped and stared pooing in the potty, we had a few accidents for a day or two when he didnt quite make it to the potty on time! think poo coming out as he walked up the stairs pantless [boak]

but he got there and is now fine!

my ds2 was similar as well, except he woudl poo everywhere except the potty, i would have to hunt the smell... again he just got it one day.

annoying but totally normal :)

The poo party rings a bell with us! We have crazy conversations before the bath every night (when DS1 usually poos on the toilet) about what 'animals' are going to come out. Last night it was a sausage and a bird [boak]. "Guess the animal" seems to be motivation enough!
I agree that it just happens. And also agree that chocolate buttons work wonders.

Ds 2.7 is the same. Been fine with wee's for months and was fine with poos but a bout of diarrhoea changes all that and he has consistently been either pooing in night nappy before sleep or waking with a dirty nappy.

Loving the poo party. We talk about letting the poo go back to his mummy and daddy that live down the toilet Blush and that the poo will be sad otherwise. This has had some success but what has worked is talking about how babies wear nappies to poo in (new baby due soon) and that big boys go in the potty and toilet oh and bribing him with a new matchbox car for pooing on the potty yesterday Grin

I once had this problem with one of the children that I minded she would only poo in her nappy I suggested cutting a hole in the nappy she sat on the loo(with the help of a bribe) and bingo 1 poo in the loo!!! Grin It took a while for her to not be scared but it certainly helped things along!!
