Hi, I'm just setting up as a childminder and I want to start advertising, I plan to be up and running after easter. I cant advertise on childcare.com as I dont have an ofsted reg number yet...
Where do you advertise that doesnt cost too much?
Also where do you get most of your mindee's from?

Netmums, childmindingforum.co.uk, fis, leaflet drop, schools of they let you, go to as many groups as you can and talk to people!

We went down many avenues. Where we got our mindee's are as follows
3 from a children's centre. They are siblings.
2 from Childcare.co.uk
2 from Netmums (siblings again)
1 from school
2 from special needs team. (they came to us asking if we could do a bit of restbite)
3 from the emergency childcare website that come in the hols. (you have to be registered with NCMA to join)

They are all part time and some are term time only, others holiday care only. We offer flexible care for 0-11 year olds. The youngest we have is 1 and the oldest is currently 9. I know alot of childminders in our area want only pre-school and fixed times. They are struggling to find clients. I think it helps to be as open as you are able to.
