We have been let down by a babysitter we had booked to look after our 2yr old on valentines eve in Whitby, 8pm-11pm.

Does ANYONE know of a sitter covering this area??? There are some on sitters.co.uk but I am reluctant to pay the membership when we just need a sitter for this one night.

Have contacted a local nursery but no joy, have contacted some people advertising babysitting via childcare.co.uk but again, no joy.

Any help much appreciated, have tried gumtree previously & have also posted on twitter and some relevant fb pages. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

TIA

Try childminders maybe? Some are registered for overnight. I'm about an hour away from Whitby so probably too far.

valentines eve is the 13th, surely?
or is the day itself an eve? Confused

rookiemater · 09/02/2012 22:16

Do you live there or are you just staying there for the evening? If its the latter try ringing the hotel or the cottage owners of where you are staying.

Stealth, we need someone for the evening of Valentines day, so the evening of Feb 14th.

Rookie, there for a short break, have contacted cottage owner but she doesnt know of anyone.

Hope you get sorted

lol sorry Stealth when I re-read my post I could see why you thought that. Its definitely the evening of Valentines Day itself (14th!).

South I phoned a couple of CMs but didnt have any luck :(

try net mums or gumtree

iluvkids · 09/02/2012 22:46

oops just re-read and saw you've tried gumtree. sorry.

Erm sorry, but why on earth would you leave a 2-year old, or any child for that matter, with a random stranger????? I know the sitters on sitters.co.uk are checked etc but still don't get why people will leave such a young child, in an unfamiliar setting, with a stranger.... Maybe just cancel your night out, have a nice night in, and go out on a night when you can get a sitter you actually know? Just a thought...

midlandsnightnannybabysitter · 10/02/2012 22:08

Well we would obviously meet sitter before the night itself, check refs & documents etc etc. I'm not stupid & wouldn't put my child at risk so please don't use that tone there's just no need.

If you find someone, & they're looking for a night's work on either of the Goth Weekends, I'd appreciate a pm with their details Grin!

good luck with it!

midlandsnightnannybabysitter · 10/02/2012 22:36
