Do childminders accept childcare vouchers?

I'm on maternity leave, just starting to sort childcare out - so don't know yet who will be looking after dd. I want to start collecting childcare vouchers while on mat leave to maximise the tax advantage - do cms accept them as part-payment?

I do, and I always recommend parents to do exactly what you are proposing, and also not to forget that both parents can collect vouchers.

Yes most do Smile

Yep-I accept them from 6 different voucher companies.Saves the parents a bit of cash and I've never had a problem with them.

Yes... I accept any

Absolutely - and if they don't with a that particular company all they have to provide is a copy of their Ofsted certificate and bank details for payment.

It is also good to collect them in advance as it means you can start to pay in advance and have vouchers in hand for each month, you can also overpay a c/m, one gives me £300 a month as she has accumulated lots while on extended leave.

Alibubbles = I assume by overpaying the CM you mean paying in advance - because one of the drawbacks of paying by vouchers is that the CM is not allowed to make refunds in cash (or by cheque etc). Any overpayments have to be returned through the voucher company because of the tax implications.

Sorry, I meant paying more than £243 as part of their total childcare bill. No refunds!!

I had one parent leave mid contract and as as she pays in advance a considerable sum, I told her I had to refund it to the voucher company, she wasn't happy, but it had to be done.
