Anyone have any suggestions on how to find a mandarin speaking nanny in central London? Have put an ad on gumtree with 0 responses. The only place I know is some very expensive agencies. Thanks!

You could try some of the Chinese community websites:

You've possibly come across these already, but in case not,

Hi it's always worth phoning some Nanny Agencies. I got my Nanny through Norma Lewis Domestic Staff. Norma Lewis was very helpful finding someone who matched my requirements although these were not language specific. Good luck in your search!

One of my friends flew to Shanghai and employed a live in from there - she is half chinese though (although only speaks english).
I must say though both the nannies weren't great, her current austrailian one is much better, but both children now 4 and 6 speak chinese (although I've just realised I'm not sure if its Mandarin or Cantonese.!)
