New childminder - first Ofsted inspection next week!!!

Hi everybody,

I have Ofsted coming next week! Aargh! Does anybody have any tips??

My biggest worry is that I have not yet got safety glass in some of my doors and windows...

Read their 'are you ready for your inspection' leaflet. If you need any help with policies, etc which you may or may not already have, just post questions on here. The first inspection is really to let you know what you need to do. The next inspection is to make sure you have done it. The NCMA website has lots of example policies.

A risk assessment is a good thing ... ie risk assess your doors and windows without safety glass. Why are they dangerous? How will you keep the children safe? What will you do about them? If they are double glazed, you are probably fine :)

Thanks HSMM - I hadn't even thought about risk assessing the doors and windows even though I have risk assessments for almost everything else I can imagine ever going wrong! (I've bought the safety film for the glass, but am too dyspraxic to fit it myself... made a right hash of it when I tried today.)

I think I have all the policies I need (mostly culled from the NCMA website)...
