Can you check holiday entitlement for me please?

Nanny starts soon, 2 days per week (tues fri). Worked out 11 days holiday (at 5.6) incl BH. So, if she takes a week at easter (incl good fri) I presume this counts as one of her 11 days. Is this right? Thanks x

Yes if it is 5.6 weeks pro rata (it actually works out at 11.2 days not sure what the rules are on rounding and whether you have to pay her for an extra .2 of a day if you don't round up) and she normally works Good Friday this counts as one of her 11 days

You cannot round down to 11 days, and you cannot pay an extra 0.2 days as statutory annual leave must be taken as leave not paid. Round up to 12.

If she takes 2 days off in the week before Easter (Good Friday and another day) this counts as 2 days.

You can round up to 11.5 days. If you don't want her to work BH's I stick it in the contract as 10.5 days plus Good Friday.

ElphabaisWicked · 18/01/2012 21:18

Its easier to say 11.5 days including bank holidays though as some years Xmas day, boxing day or new years day may be on a Friday.

Thanks everyone. I get more annual leave than this so in practice I'll probably give her extra days off in any case.
