hi - considering hiring a nanny to start later this year who is not registered with ofsted. could she start registration process in advance so we can pay her in part with childcare vouchers when she starts? i realise she'll have to complete the 1st aid course and wait for the CRB check etc.

thanks

Yes she can register whether she is working or not, i registered before i started working so the families i was due to be working with could use childcare vouchers. Although I think the first aid has to be completed before you start the registration process. Ofsted will then send her the CRB forms. I'd ring them to request the forms, I have always found them very helpful on the phone.

that's really helpful - and reassuring! thanks, will ask her to call ofsted and start registration if we go ahead and hire her...
