How much would you pay a babysitter if they were 16 yo girl. I have 2 kids to look after 11 and 7? Thank you

7ph is what we give our friend's 16, almost 17YO daughter. She is fab, and the kids adore her.

At that age I got £5ph then another £5 bunged on top generally

I'm a qualified/crb/first aid holding nanny now and charge 7ph

Oh, interesting, I was just about to post something similar.
So, as a general rule, would a nanny expect slightly less for babysitting than for daytime care of her charges?
I was thinking 'antisocial hours' vs 'hopefully not as streneous as all darlings in bed', so wasn't sure what to offer our (brandshinynew) nanny.

I would ask her how much she wants pacific, I always go a bit cheaper but lots of my nanny friends charge the same.

I always say that nannying is V different to babysitting...including in the evenings

If I'm babysitting my charges of an evening then I generally get on the household stuff so I don't have to do it the next day etc whereas if I'm babysitting someone other then my charges, I tidy toys away and clear up...but not to the same level as I would with my charges iygwim!!

I get the same amount PH for my charges when babysitting as I do in the daytime, but that was MB's choice

Generally I charge £7ph...which is relatively cheap for round here (N.london, border of Archway & Crouch end)

ok because i asked my niece who has just started uni and she last year was getting paid 5 p/h which i thought was really bad for a 16 yo let alone an 18yo! Am i wrong in thinking paying 5 p/h is really bad and should be paying them more like 7?
