Is anyone preparing for an Ofsted visit, or just been visited by them?

Hi Everyone, I trust your day has been a good one.

Ofsted visited me three years ago, this month. How often do they visit now? 3 or 4 yrs?

I have revised my Policies and Procedures. I have sent out questionnaires asking parent and their children for their comments on my services.

What else woud you recommend? Have you got your own checklist?

Your comments will be appreciated.

Thank you lovely people Grin

Hi mine is due December, so getting ready now, but my luck they will be really behind and wont be inspected for ages, at the mo I am up-dating my portfolio with all my certificates, risk assessments, policies, SEF, safeguarding needs to be up to date, learning journals, planning I could go on nightmare.

Also ofsted have changed their address so check you don't have their old address.

I had mine this week but last one before that was March 2008.

Mrs O was interested in policies although as per eyfs framework you only need safeguarding and complaints. She like me felt it was better to cover more but they can't downgrade you for less.

She also wanted:

Attendance registers (don't have to be signed to meet regs)
Accident book
Learning journeys (You only need to plan 3- 4 times a year Shock)
To know I had first aid kit
To see record of fire drills
To see risk assessments
Record of trainings
SEF if you have done one

She was very hot on cultural diversity and celebrating festivals such as Diwali. She also said the more photographic evidence the better.

Thanks everyone for that.

Today Ive sepnt hours on my paperwork, got one of the learning journals on my lap right now Grin

There is a sense of satisfaction when you see things coming together.

I would like to be relaxing and doing things for myself or with my family but I know this needs to be done!!!

Do you include your observations within your learning journals or have you got a seperate folder?
