I can't blame her, her mother is having tests and may be ill and it's a long way away, I know it's hard to settle here so this was just the last straw but fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. And fuck once again.

Any locals likely to want a job - if live-out nanny is an option?

mama not bad luck just difficult to find someone in the first place given where we are.

nick I tried last time but noone wants 6.30am starts (fair enough). I'll obviously be trying again because we're less likely to have the sick parent problem but I don't know how successful we'll be!

I feel really sorry for her but sorry for me too because she is genuinely wonderful with DS and I don't want to have to replace her.

Do you have freinds or family to help on a temporary basis? Where do you live that makes it so difficult?

In the middle of the Indian Ocean. Military posting so no family, friends have their own families or work, local crèches are all full and I wouldn't leave a goldfish with the CMs here. Unless you know anyone who speaks French and want an AP/nanny hybrid job!
