How to gain more experiance in special needs

Am a nanny with reasonably little SN experience...am just wondering what the best way to gain experience would be....would be happy to work for free during this

The National Autistic Society need volunteers to spend time with some of the people they help. That's the only suggestion I have apart from a part-time SN position! I'm after some more SN experience as well :)

Have you tried contacting any additional needs schools, most are usually very happy to have some volunteers. I did it myself and really enjoyed it.
