Childminderss club - Potty Training

My eldest mindee (3 yrs 3 months) is still in nappies and his mum keeps telling me she wants him on a potty now. I keep saying to her "do you want him to use one here" and she just says "Whatever". I've got a potty here for him but I don't want to start until she tells me to and she does at home as I only have him 4 hours a day, 3-4 days a week.

I saw his gran the other day and she asked me to sort out his potty training and I tried explaining it was his mum's choice when to start and not mine.

He's really sensitive about having his nappy changed but will quite happily take off all his clothes and run round naked. Yesterday he did a poo in his nappy and it took me over an hour to convince him to let me change it - he can get violent if you do it without his say so.

I've got him for 2 days next week and then I've got a fortnight off, is it best to speak to his mum before my holiday or see if she takes it as an opportunity to do it herself?

Suggest that she starts over the holidays and then tells you which strategies she has used and you will continue with them....as 2 weeks is an ideal start
