I have learnt that its better to get payment in advance. Soon to take on a new contract. I am considering asking for payment in advance. Contract before that I asked for payment in advance also.

I did not do this with some of my parents. You learn Smile

Agree with payment in advance.

Clarity about when payment should be made and when not (ie hols, sickness, bank hols, etc)

Hi HSMM. Thanks for your reply once again.

My situation has been parent forgetting to pay me, had to sent reminders, , payment being late, payment in bits.

I have a late fee of £5.00 and I have charged before.

It can be frustrating when you have to be chasing payment etc, but if I have to charge I will do it. The Tax office wanted their payment regardless of my financial situation.
