Some of you may recall that I was having major problems getting DD (3yrs) to nursery and myself to work by 9.00am. I had loads of suggestions and put in place a full time AP (previously used to share AP with another familiy). Moved DD to a great nursery which opened at 8.30am.

Anyway after 10 weeks the great AP went for the weekend to visit her sick mother in Sweden and has not returned, not returned our calls etc. We assume she will not return (despite leaving personal possessions behind) but also matter of £60 missing from DP wallet day she left?? I am even more stuck than before as current nursery opens at 8.30am.

She was the third AP since March and we have decided against another it is so draining finding and training them and DP not keen on invasion of privacy.

Anyway have decided that what we need is a live out person to come to our home at 8am and take DD to nursery (10 min walk) and in evening collect DD from nursery and sit with her at home for 30 minutes until I get home.

Any suggestions hopw to recruit this person? Thus far I have put notice in local FE college and local shop windows. Many thanks

A childminder could maybe accomodate these hours, it sounds like you need wraparound care like a child at school would have. Try looking at www.childcarelink.gov.uk and click on your area. Good luck!!

Are there other children who go to the nursery who live near? You could perhaps drop your DD off there for 1/2 hour before and after school/nuursery?

I have sometimes shared this with other mums, and if you offer to pay, or return the favour in another way? My best friend did this for me for about 3 months when I was pg with dd2 and I couldn't get back in time for the nursery due to slow trains.
