Was paying £7 per hour, but feel bad, think this is too low - what is going rate?

All depends on experience and qualifications if local college/uni student or newly qualified nursery nurse then thats fine

If experienced nanny then going rate is £8-£10 an hr

if babysitter is happy then dont worry
