tomorrow some one from the council is coming to see me about my application to become a child minder, to give me a helping hand and discuss the processes to me.

I havent prepared any thing, or done any thing... am I supposed to have done?

No, it sounds like it will be really informal meeting to explain what is involved. Training to be a CM isn't as easy as some people think so they like to explain everything up front to make sure you understand what is involved before you sign up to it.

I would just have a pen and paper handy so you can make some notes of your own (but usually they give you handouts anyway)

You wil be fine! Smile

The point is not for you to hide anything you think they might not like. The point is for you to think how you would ensure the health and wellbeing of any children entrusted to you. So no - don't hide the tray but yes do think about how you would manage that. Will the children need to use that loo? If not how will you keep them out of it? Would it be better to relocate the cat litter and how will you do that so that the cat doesn't freak?

How did the visit go?

Flisspaps · 25/05/2011 15:29

Hope the visit went well. FWIW, I haven't found the Childminding team where I am overly helpful - very friendly and nice, but it's not them I turn to for advice or information.

This is where I go to for information and guidance!

OnlyWantsOne · 25/05/2011 17:42

it went well, she bassically told me what steps I need to take. She was friendly though - which helped when she walked around my house and garden and told me what I'd need to do!!!!

(and why is it today of all days that my garden looks like a complete crap hole)
