English lessons for au pair in Balham

Hi

We are moving to Balham shortly, and will have an au pair. Does anyone have any idea where we should look for English lessons to start in September? She will be French and have intermediate (ie probably GCSE) level English. We currently live in north London and have had a number of au pairs go to Harrow College, so something similar would be good. Cost is a bit of an issue, so nothing too expensive!

Thanks in advance.

There is South Thames College in Tooting Broadway, a short distance away from Balham. They have English classes but you need to put her name down for September class at the end of May, beginning of June. Not sure about cost but I think it's not too expensive, have a look at their website. There is another private language school in Clapham Common, next to Sainsburys but can't remember the name of it, they do take in students every Monday.

I agree South Thames College is the best one in the area, there is also ELT in Clapham Old Town but personally i prefer S.T.College

Thanks very much Lily and Flower. I will check out S Thames. We interviewed her last night, and all seems good! Her English is better than I expected, but she is very keen to improve it.

If anyone else has any thoughts, please do let me know.

thanks very much.
