It is only 8am and I am already so wound up I can't eat my breakfast. 2 different families are supposed to have paid me this week for next week and 1 family should have paid me before today for next month which starts on Monday and not a dickie bird from any of them. One paid me yesterday for this week (even though it is payment in advance) and said she 'forgot' to bring my money for next week, even though she said she had just come from the cash point and when she paid me yesterday she deducted money for today which she decided she would take as a holiday, the contract says one weeks notice for holidays, aaarhg!!! Time to get tough I think!

The other two pay with vouchers straight into my bank but I haven't even had the notification emails and when I get the emails I still have to wait 4 days for the money to clear in my bank WTF is wrong with some people? I am normally easy going about these things and the late payments haven't put me on the breadline but they don't know that. Definitely time to take the hard line, stop being a door mat and make sure that everyone know's where they stand!

I had similar a few years ago, ended up taking parents to small claims court.

People seem to forget that if they didn't get paid they would complain so why should we have to wait.

I have this quite often .
A friend of mine who also childminds , started a late payment fee for her mindees parents . She wrote into her contracts that there would be a 5 pound per day fee for every day of late payment .
I haven't had the guts to introduce this yet !

In my contracts I charge £10 per day for late payment. Fortunately I've not had to implement it yet!
