To a job interview as a nanny?

A suit seems too formal and my usual jeans-and-trainers is too scruffy...

Smart trousers with plain tshirt? Shirt?

Thank you!

I've worn nice dark jeans and a black tee. Nothing too formal incase you need to play with the DC.

I'm not a nanny but have interviewed a few recently and just hired one. I would personally not take that much notice but if anything would prefer jeans and T, nothing too smart as it gives the impression you wouldn't be prepared to muck in and get messy with the kids tbh!

I've not found it makes any difference. I just wear what I would wear when nannying.

Smart but casual I think the feel is, though with trainers or other suitable footwear for playing out in the garden.

Don't wear high heal shoes - totally impractical.

Thank you! I've got one pair of ted baker jeans I treated myself to recently in a darkish shade so I'll wear them. Bare feet and ballet flats? Coloured tshirt with subtle embellishment? Or casual shirt?

I like this, you're telling me to wear the clothes I feel comfy in and wear normally!

Yep ballet flats good, maybe with the t-shirt.

Thank you everyone :) I'm pondering a top I've got that's like a cardi with a fake shirt insert. It makes me look thin!

I tend to wear something slightly more formal for a first interview- black trousers and a smart top, black boring shoes. Then more 'me' the second interview, should I get one- decent jeans, normal top, normal shoes.

I agree with Samedi ,I wear the same and then when/if I am asked to a second interview I wear Jeans more casual and easier for when you get down and play with the children.
