My reason for asking is that i am pregnant with my 3rd and am wondering if childminders are slightly cheaper than private nursery (where my other 2DC went). the nursery also charge more for babies, is this the same for childminders?
thanks for any info, i live in Glasgow, Scotland if that makes a difference!

Childminders fees vary from provider to provider. At a guess I would say £3.50-£5 an hour is likely in a city location. Some may operate on a per session or per day basis rather than hourly.

ScottishChildcare.gov.uk may help, though not all providers list their fees.

SCMA - Scottish Childminding Association may be able to advise you, as could your local Families information service - expect Glasgow City Council: 0141 287 5223

I am quite far from you but in east midlands they vary between £2.50-£5 an hr and some include food other dont.

As you have 3 children a nanny would potentially work out the most cost effective childcare for you
