OK. I have only been once before, to Blackpool. I thoroughly enjoyed it then. It was amazing to be in a room of over 700 other childminders!!

I'm going to Torquay, this will be my 4th conference & I'm really looking forward to it. Went to the last one at Torquay & it is a brilliant venue, modern, spacious, well laid out, good hotel.

And I get to stop off at my parents on the way home for Sunday tea! (They live in Dorset & I live in West Sussex)

Sorry - what did I learn? Apart from things from the workshop (I did the Storysacks one, which was brilliant), I think it was just the whole atmosphere of the weekend. It made us all feel empowered, refreshed, reminded of what a good job we were doing, and what a good job it can be. The dressing up bit was fun too! It was also quite enlightening to think, between the 700 of us there, how many families relied on us !

I wish i was going, it would be great to meet other minders from around the country, but can't afford to go, will just have to have some more time at the park with my 5yr old. Some of the minders near me in Poole Dorset are going, so they can tell me about it.

I am staying in the Parks Hotel, I am being funded by our County EYDCP as a Support minder so they have booked the hotel etc. All I am doing is driving down (taking a couple of other minders with me). If I hadn't been funded by them it would have been from elsewhere as I am on the regional NCMA Committee as well! All I need is my spending money & the cost of one meal on the Friday evening.

Blodwen, looking forward to seeing you at the meal on the Friday evening, I'nm driving down as I want to see my parents on the way home on Sunday & I don't think they could cope with a coach load of childminders lol! (the coach wouldn't get down their lane either)
For my sins I am treasurer of SE Region NCMA so my photo will be on the regional display boards at the conference, at least then you will know who to look for! Even if I don't knwo you.
