Gumtree AP recruitment - please regulars and anyone else

Hi
Those who have successfully used Gumtree for AP recuitment - what was your lead time? Like if I wanted to recruit for September, when?

Fed up with normal recruitment MO at the moment (agency) for various, can't face AP World, really miss old style nanny recruiting where ya put the ad up, the CVs came in, you interviewed locally, done and dusted.

Wasn't successful through Gum Tree - but that was because my free ad took 11 days to go up - that was just over a month ago. I did have a few good responses by au pairs already in the country but by then I had already chosen an au pair through Au Pair World.

Worth a shot IMO. There are probably APs now who would like to do another year in a different family... But you'll probably have a lot of crap applicants to sift through.

I have used gumtree but found it good only for almost immediate start ie max 2 week leadtime. Anything else use ap world
